With a tremendous amount of uncertainty still circling around the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to provide a brief update on our planning for the upcoming 2021 season - and yes I referred to a season because like many of you, our Executive wants the kids to play ball this summer...
Our registration system is now open and I encourage you to sign up if your child has an interest in playing either softball or hardball. It's important that you register so that we're in the best position to form teams and prepare schedules and get the kids on the field if we're able to play. I also want to assure you that full refunds will be provided if a season cannot happen this year, although we are not requiring payment to be made when you register at this time.
I also want to assure our families that our planning takes a number of things into consideration, including the safety of our players, coaches and families. Our Executive is excited about a return to play, but we have to do so with the health and safety of everyone at the forefront of our decisions. We may be operating in a bubble system this summer, so we have begun communication with our neighbouring associations about the need to take this into consideration as we plan for a season.
We want to assure families that we are taking the necessary steps to prepare for a season, if permitted. We have policies and procedures in place that we have already provided to the Town of Bradford that we will continue to review and update as the course of the pandemic plays out. At the same time, we will continue to prepare our rosters and engage with our coaches so that we can be ready to put a product on the field.
These are trying times, but we remain optimistic that the kids want to play and you as families want to see them on the field. We thank you for your continued patience as we work towards a season and are committed to keeping you in the loop and answering any questions you have about our plans moving forward.
