COVID-19 Update
Submitted By Brian Rice on Friday, March 20, 2020

Dear Parents,

The Bradford Minor Baseball Association continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and the precautions that are being encouraged by health officials both locally and across Ontario. As mentioned in earlier emails, our rep/select program has been placed on hold for the next few weeks and we will communicate out to those teams as we continue to evaluate any opportunity to resume practices and training. Of course, the safety of our players and their families is of paramount importance to all of us...(continue reading)

Tonight, the BMBA Executive met via teleconference to discuss a number of issues as we plan for the upcoming baseball season. At this point in time, we are taking our direction from Baseball Ontario, but we remain hopeful that we will have a season in 2020. Regardless, we are putting in place some contingency plans in the event that our season is disrupted.

We have made the decision to cancel all late fees for the upcoming season. Originally, late fees would apply after April 1, 2020, but given the fact that we are in a state of uncertainty and families have a number of other priorities, we will not be applying any late fees this season. Families have expenses over the next couple of weeks and we don't want to create any hardship for families who register their child after April 1st.

We are in the process of ordering our jerseys for the upcoming season and we have forecasted numbers based on registration to date and historical numbers from last season. I want to ensure that as soon as a baseball season is announced that we are ready to go and that players are equipped and ready to play in their team colours.

I know that baseball may not be top of mind for a lot of families, but we want to encourage you to register your child for baseball early so that we can begin to prepare our teams accordingly. There is no risk - if you register your child today, you will not be required to pay until a season is announced. And, to those families that have registered their child already (and paid), we want to assure you that in the event that the season is cancelled, a full refund will be issued to you.

With the cancellation of the hockey season and kids being at home for the next few weeks, everyone wants to get outside and we look forward to a great baseball season. We definitely want to support families during this time, so if you have any questions about your current registration or about the season in general, please let us know.
